Main level living, ease of access, 2 guest suites and lounge/bar below; all with decks and views. Simple, affordable construction describes this sheltering minimal design.

A domestic modern home on a private site in the North Asheville Mountains, the home above right frames a domestic/mountain modern minimal approach. Main level living, porch and deck, open living with few doors and hinges. This home has two guest suites below, sauna, family room/library/bar, and walk out terrace. Efficient use of program space; just over 2,500sf heated area, technically and energy sound construction.

Each project addressed a relatively steep mountain grade with a need for parking and access efficiency and minimal scope of sitework and costs. The clients' preference for reduced detailing allow the sunlight, changing seasons, landscapes and views to become the focus.
